Go to the EU Login website
EU Login is the official sign-in system for the European Commission. You need an account to access ENV-TRACES.
- 1Open the EU Login pageecas.ec.europa.eu/cas ↗
- 2Click "Create an account"The link is located at the bottom left in the sign-in form, next to the blue “Next” button
Enter your details
Enter your name and business email address. This email address will become your permanent login address.
- 1Enter first and last name
- 2Enter your business email addressEnter the address twice for confirmation
- 3Tick the privacy checkboxRequired. Without this, you cannot continue
- 4Click "Create an account"
Check your email
EU Login has sent an activation email. You must click the link in that email to set your password and activate your EU Login username. Without this step, you cannot log in.

- 2Click the blue activation link in the emailYou will be redirected to a page where you can set your password

Set your password
After clicking the link, you will be asked to create a password for your EU Login account.

You have now created an EU Login account. We will now set up the DIWASS connection via ENV-TRACES. This takes about 5 more minutes.
Go to ENV-TRACES
ENV-TRACES is the environment where you search for or create your own operator and later request the correct access.

- 2Click the green “Log in” buttonThis is on the left side of the welcome page.
Set up trusted platform
At the first login, you will see an error message. This is normal. You must set up a second security layer.
- 1Click “My account” in the error message
- 2Click “Manage my trusted platforms”
- 3Click “Add trusted platform”This is our recommendation. Easy for daily use.
- 4Enter a name for your theviceFor example: “My laptop” or “Work computer”
- 5Click “Submit”
Log in to ENV-TRACES
Now that the trusted platform is set up, log in with your password and verification.
- 1Go back to ENV-TRACES and click “Log in”
- 2Enter your email address and password
- 3Select “Trusted platform or security key”
- 4Click the blue “Sign in” button
You are logged in
You now see your profile in ENV-TRACES. This means the login was successful. In the next phase, use the menu Actors to Operators

The next step is not to submit an application immediately, but first to go via Actors → Operators to search for your own company.
Select “Operator”
After logging in, you do not have a role yet. Therefore, under Request authorisation, select Operator.

Search for an existing operator
Fill in the fields to search for your existing company.

Enter the company name
Type your company name in the search field.
- 1Type your own company nameUse the official company name as registered.

Select the correct operator
Check the search results and select the row that truly belongs to your organisation.
- 1Check name and addressCheck that the name and address match your own organisation.
- 2Check the activityThe activity must be WSR Operator selected.
- 3Tick the correct rowOnly select the row that belongs to [your company name].
Request the authorisation
After selecting the correct operator, click at the top right on Request authorisation
- 1Check your selectionThe correct row must be ticked.
- 2Click “Request authorisation”This submits the authorisation request for this operator.
Create new operator
Only use this route if [your company name] cannot be found as an existing operator.
- 1Click “Create new operator”This button is in the top right or the screen where you search for operators.
- 2Enter the basic detailsUse the official company name, select Netherlands and enter the phone number.
- 3Fill in the address block carefullyFor city, use the postcode and city name. For address, enter street and house number.
Add identifiers
Click + Add Identifier to add the required identifier rows.
- 1Add extra rowsUse + Add Identifier until the correct identifier rows are visible.
- 2Central business registerEnter the Chamber of Commerce number here. Then click the star to mark this as the main identifier.
- 3Global Location NumberEnter the branch number or GLN here.
- 4EORIOnly fill this in if [your company name] already has an EORI number.
Add activity and responsible authority
Link the operator to the correct WSR activity and add the responsible authority.

- 3Add responsible authorityClick Search responsible authorities and add Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) .
Check and submit the application
Check all details before creating the new operator.
- 1Check all required fieldsName, country, address, identifiers, activity and responsible authority must be filled in correctly.
- 2Check the starAt Central business register the star must be selected.
- 3Click “Create new operator”This blue button at the top right submits the application.

Check all details before clicking “Create”.
- 1Check all key detailsStatutory name, phone number, email address, contact person, Chamber of Commerce number, branch number and address.
- 2Click “Create”This sends the application to the ILT.
- 3Wait for assessmentThe ILT processes your application within 5 working days.
Authorisation request submitted
After submitting, you will see a confirmation that your authorisation request has been sent successfully.
- 1Check the green success messageThis states that the authorisation request has been submitted successfully.
- 2Check the statusUnder “Your roles”, the status is Requested
- 3Wait for approvalYou will receive a message once the role has been assessed. Sometimes you need to log out and log in again before the new status is visible.
Go to Actors → Users
In ENV-TRACES, open the Actors menu and then select Users. You will then arrive at the Search users
- 1Click “Actors”This is at the top of the main menu.
- 2Click “Users”Under “Individuals” in the dropdown menu.
- 3Click “Search pending requests”This button is in the top right or the “Search users” screen.
Find the pending request
Click Search pending requests. The open request will then appear at the bottom or the table.
- 1Click “Search pending requests”At the top right or the page.
- 2Check the row at the bottomIt should show DIWASS Travas B.V..
- 3Open the requestClick View to open the request.
Validate Travas DIWASS BV
Open the user request and approve the requested role. Then click Save changes
- 1Click the green check markThis approves the request.
- 2Click “Save changes”This saves the validation definitively.
DIWASS Travas B.V. has been validated
After saving, Travas can continue processing the DIWASS connection on your behalf. Sometimes it takes a few minutes before the change is visible.
You now have an EU Login account!
Well done! We will now set up the DIWASS connection via ENV-TRACES.
Click “Next” for phase 2
You are logged in to ENV-TRACES
Continue to phase 3. There, open the menu Actors and chooset you Operators
Validation completed
DIWASS Travas B.V. now has full access to your operator. You can submit notifications in ENV-TRACES via Travas.
